Merry Christmas and A Happy New
Year from Barbara & Mike.
2005
has been a very good year. We made several trips to Raleigh and to the beach at
Oak Island. Lindy’s scans continue to be clean and have now been extended to 3
month intervals. We continue to be grateful for the excellent care she is
receiving at NC Children’s. Barbara is very involved in fund raising for the NC
Children’s Neuroblastoma Research Project.
We
spent a week at the beach at Oak Island in March and 10 days in September with lots
of the family. Continuing our hurricane tradition, we observed Ophelia up
close.
In
July we traveled to Kentucky for Adam and Zaney Stitzer’s wedding. Barbara met
some very nice people at McDonald’s in Grayson, Kentucky where she left her
purse on the way home.
The
Robbie, Lynn, Kate, and Lindy visited Myersville in July and again for
Thanksgiving. The highlight of both visits was the daily ride on McKenzie, our
Morgan pony. Both girls are getting to be very good riders and enthusiastic
horsewomen.
In
August, Courtney’s Ultimate team, Ambush, played in a tournament a few miles
from here.
Several of the women stayed with
us, and the whole team came here one night for dinner. We really enjoyed their
visit and the opportunity to get to know them.
Our
big news is that we are planning to relocate to North Carolina. We listed our
house in September. I have changed job responsibilities, and can now work from
home in Carolina providing I can get a high speed internet connection at home.
We installed a cable modem here in Myersville in September, and I am now
working from home 2 days a week.
We still have 2
horses, Scott & McKenzie, 2 Goldens, Maggie & Abbey, and 2 cats, Puffy
& Agora. This spring we lost Rip Tide, our 30 year old Tennessee Walker. He
was a very people oriented horse and we both miss him.
