Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year from the Kellys.
This year we
decided to add a granddaughter to the family. Lindy Michael Gupton was born on
June 21 to Lynn and Robbie. Kate is enjoying the Big Sister role, and is a real
help to Mom and Dad. At 6 months, Lindy weighs 15 pounds and can almost read
and write.
Barb and I spent a
week with the Guptons at Oak Island, NC in September. We had great weather and
a great time with the girls. Bill, Mary, and Madison Stitzer joined us at the
beach. Vicki and John Cadden also joined us later in the week.
Lynn, Robbie, Kate
& Lindy came to our house in Myersville for Thanksgiving. Courtney and her
friend Sara spent Thanksgiving with us as well. Barbara and Kate made a great
turkey dinner, and we had fun with the kids.
We had a tough
year with the horses. In January, Frisco died of a thyroid condition after an
illness of several months. Barbara tried everything to save him, but finally we
had to let him go. On Labor Day, she bought Scott, a beautiful 12 year old
thoroughbred. He has been a race horse and more recently a hunter jumper; he is
adjusting nicely to dressage at our house. In November, McKenzie, an 18 year
old Morgan pony, came to live with us. He is Kate’s pony, and she had a great
time riding and grooming him at Thanksgiving. He is big enough for Barbara to
ride, and is a fun little guy. Rip, our old walking horse, is still here as
well, and I try to ride him once a week.
The Goldens,
Maggie and Abbey, and the cats, Pika and Agora, are all doing well. They are
enjoying life and keeping Barbara busy.
I am still working
on the Navy Internet project with EDS. I have deployed sites in six different
cities this year; each site takes about a week. Courtney is living in New York
and still working for Accenture. After several months in St. Louis, she is now
working on an AT&T account in North Jersey.
Our house is
located near Hagerstown, about an hour from Washington, DC and from Baltimore,
